The Springfield Dairy Queen opened for business in 1957 with a 750 sq ft building and two walk-up windows for service. A lot has changed over the years. DQ introduced many new treats, like the Waffle Bowl, Brownie Earthquake, and the ever popular Blizzard. The Springfield DQ itself has seen change as well, expanding to a 1,350 sq ft store with 6 walk-up windows and a drive-thru. You will still find great standards like the Soft Serve Cone, Banana Split, and Milkshakes. The Springfield Dairy Queen has been the ‘go-to’ place for over 55 years. From sports teams celebrating their victories, students needing a pick me up after school, busy moms treating their kids, and everyone in between, it has been a place where people have loved coming back again and again to enjoy their favorite treats.
